Sapodilla (Cheeku, Sapoda)

Sapodilla (Manilkara zapota) is an evergreen tropical fruit tree with glossy green foliage and sweet brown fruit, also commonly known as Cheeku or Sapota.

The fruit has a soft, melting texture with a rich caramel or brown sugar flavour when fully ripe, making it perfect for eating fresh. Growing to around 5–10m tall in home gardens, it is best planted in a warm, sunny position with well-drained soil and protection from frost while young.
