Purple Wings Vine (Dalechampia aristolochiifolia)

Dalechampia aristolochiifolia, commonly known as the Purple Wings Plant or Butterfly Vine, is a fast-growing tropical climber valued for its dramatic purple bracts and attractive foliage. It typically reaches 3–5 metres in height with a spread of 1–2 metres, making it ideal for trellises, arches, and pergolas. This plant thrives in full sun to partial shade, with brighter light encouraging better flowering. Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist but well-drained, especially during warmer months. Care is minimal, with occasional pruning helping to manage growth and maintain shape.
