RB4 was bred in Australia for the commercial industry & bears sweet high quality fruit. As a bisexual, self-fruitful tree, it can produce fruit on its own, but planting two or more trees significantly increases yield. This highly nutritious fruit is not only delicious but also quick and easy to grow, thriving in warm, sunny locations with regular feeding and good drainage—plant in raised beds, slopes, or free-draining soil to avoid waterlogging. The RB4 hybrid is characterized by vigorous growth, strong upright stems, and abundant foliage, making it ideal for both commercial and small-scale cultivation. To protect the fruits from birds and bats as they near ripening, they can be picked slightly early and allowed to ripen off the tree.
